Family Resources

Throughout the year we provide leadership and materials in many different ways, all in an effort to educate people on the benefit of choosing Hospice of Chattanooga care services. We have regular support groups, camps, special days for education on a specific topic along with a team of people who represent us at local health fairs, festivals and the like.

Hospice of Chattanooga also offers a speakers bureau, providing speakers for community groups, civic clubs, churches, schools, associations, hospitals and service organizations. Our speakers bureau is made up of spokespersons from our volunteer and administrative staff who can discuss general hospice information, end-of-life issues, explain “palliative care”, or volunteer opportunities. We will tailor presentations for the intended audience.

Should you want a speaker from Hospice of Chattanooga to make a presentation to your group, or if you would like to train as a spokesperson, please call Hospice of Chattanooga, (423) 892-4289, and ask for Volunteer Services.

There are also some great resources out there where you can find more information that you might need on making a decision about hospice or palliative care. We are sharing these with our endorsement:

  • www.nhpco.org - National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization

Annual Events

Hospice of Chattanooga organizes and sponsors several events throughout the year. Following is a brief overview of those events. Please click here to view our calendar for events dates and times.

Healing Hearts Camp for Kids

This is our annual camp for children, ages 5-11, who have experienced the loss of a loved one. It could be a parent, grandparent, sibling or friend. Children grieve differently from adults, and this is camp is designed to allow expressions through activity in a group setting with others who are also grieving a loss.

Healing Hearts Camp for Teens

This camp is for teenagers who are dealing with the loss of a loved one in their life. Teenagers are usually more reserved in dealing with grief, and we design activities especially for teenagers that allow them to open up about, and express, their grief.

Memorial Services

This service is open to anyone in the community who wants to remember the death of a loved one. All are welcome to this service, whether the person they want to remember died while under hospice care or not. “Remembrance done as a community is food for the soul”.

Support Groups

Hospice of Chattanooga offers a wide range of grief support services, including group counseling sessions. We are proud to provide these support group services free of charge to any person in need of grief counseling in our 22-county service area. You do not need to be connected to a patient of Hospice of Chattanooga to attend our support groups, and any person working to cope with the death of someone close to him or her is invited to attend.

Our support group schedule is updated each quarter. Click here to download and print a flier of all the Hospice of Chattanooga support groups. Click here for a schedule of the Healing Hearts Grief Support for Families.
