Bereavement
Hospice of Chattanooga

Hospice of Chattanooga offers extensive support for their patients beyond nursing. The mission of our Bereavement Program is to provide comprehensive NO-CHARGE grief support and education through individual, family and group counseling for Hospice patients, loved ones, our staff and members of the communities that we serve. Our Bereavement Staff works with the families and friends of the patient prior to, during and after the death of their loved one as requested by the family for us to 13 months beyond your loved ones death.

In addition, we offer resources to the community at large at no charge.  Our Bereavement Counselors will speak to schools, churches, and other groups regarding grief.  They are available to support traumatic situations that occur in the community such as the sudden death of a teacher or other significant person in the lives of a large group of people.  Not only do we offer individual sessions, we offer a variety of support groups throughout the year.

Hospice of Chattanooga Bereavement Counselors work with individuals as they travel through their grief journey.  We know that everyone travels a different path in their grief.

Our counselors each have areas of expertise to work with your unique and individual needs.  For instance, some work well with children and teens, others expertise lies with an older population.  And still others help with the difficult task of dealing with suicide.  Each is highly gifted in their abilities to guide and comfort us on these journeys.
