Hospice of Chattanooga
Our Pediatric Palliative Care Program cares for children of any age with any life-threatening pediatric diagnosis.
We can help families navigate through the healthcare system, provide assistance in decision-making and help to maximize community social service support.
Through our on-call system, families and medical team members have access to our Pediatric Team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Also, our pharmacy service includes home delivery. Specialized services such as occupational, speech and expressive therapies are also provided on a case-by-case basis.
Our pediatric bereavement coordinator guides the child, his or her siblings, parents and other family members through feelings associated with anticipatory grief and remains in contact and providing counseling services for at least 13 months after the child has died. We also offer a monthly support group for families, and grief support is available to the child’s classmates and members of his or her religious and social groups.
Hospice/palliative care services are covered by many private health insurance plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid. Hospice of Chattanooga, Inc. is a community based, non-profit organization. Funding is received through private donations, memorial gifts, grants, fund-raising events and the United Way.
