Larry Scarborough M.D.

There’s no place like home, and for Dr. Larry Scarborough, home is the beautiful mountains of Marion County. After spending almost 25 years practicing family medicine in Huntsville, Alabama, Dr. Scarborough was offered the opportunity to become the Hospice of Chattanooga physician serving the Sequatchie Valley. Most days you will find Dr. Scarborough making house calls to the Hospice of Chattanooga patients living in Marion, Grundy and Sequatchie counties.

“This position with Hospice of Chattanooga allows me to do the thing in medicine that I love best, which is help people approaching the end of life,” says Dr. Scarborough. “It is a real privilege to lessen the load on patients facing life-limiting illnesses and it gives me great satisfaction to make sure that their finals weeks and months are spent pain-free and surrounded by loved ones.”

Dr. Scarborough is very experienced in hospice care. In 1993, he was appointed Medical Director for the leading hospice provider in Northwest Alabama. He held that position until joining the Hospice of Chattanooga team in 2010.

Dr. Scarborough is a graduate of the University of Mississippi’s Medical Center and is board certified in hospice and palliative medicine.
