Galina Rader M.D.

If you ask Dr. Galina Rader to describe her job, she will smile and reply with the same answer every time, “It’s precious.”

Dr. Rader has been a member of the Hospice of Chattanooga family since 2006 and in that time she has encountered thousands of patients, all with a wonderful quality of life she has helped to preserve during the end-of-life journey.

“In hospice care, our lens is so much broader,” says Dr. Rader. “We manage the pain and symptoms associated with a patient’s terminal disease, but we don’t stop there. We also look at how the illness impacts the family—physically, mentally, emotionally and financially— and we provide help in any and every way we can.”

Dr. Rader received her medical degree at a medical school in her home country of Russia. Prior to joining the Hospice of Chattanooga team, she performed her residency in family practice at East Tennessee State University. She has also worked for Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.
