Julie Haun M.D.

Dr. Julie Haun is one of the most passionate hospice care physicians you will ever meet. Her background is in family medicine, but she has worked for Hospice of Chattanooga the last three years. Dr. Haun spends a lot of her time educating those surrounding the patient that it is better to call for hospice services sooner rather than later.

“There is a perception that what we do is scary,” explains Dr. Haun. “I want to change that perception, because the reality of what hospice does is wonderful. We come in and support the patient and family so that the end-of-life journey isn’t so difficult.”

The care Dr. Haun provides is much more than medical. She is a big believer in open communication and takes time to counsel patients and families about all of their care options. Dr. Haun says her top priority is to make sure patients remain in charge of their hospice plan of care, so that every moment is spent exactly as they wish.

Dr. Haun is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine in Memphis. She did her residency in family practice at the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine in Chattanooga.
